Golden-cheeked Warblers at Friedrich Wilderness Park

I finally got down to the Hill Country of Texas (had to wait for the house sitter to come before I left)and today I birded Friedrich Wilderness Park, a well known natural area that I birded once before though about 10 years or so ago. It is known for it's nesting Golden-cheeked Warblers, a species that is on the U.S. Endangered Species List and is also listed as endangered by the state of Texas. I was delighted to find 2 singing male and plus a likely female Golden-cheeked Warblers. These are photos of one of the males. More on female in next post. SeEtta
